Bhutan Trekking Cost with Bhutan Visa Fee

All the tourists visiting Bhutan have to bear a onetime payment of $40 as Visa fee on top of Sustainable Development Fee (SDF Fee) and Tour/Trekking cost.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day1Arrival at Paro– Thimphu (cultural sightseeing)

Our representative your guide and driver will greeting at Paro International airport and drive to Thimphu (capital). After reaching Thimphu, check into your hotel, enjoy your lunch and set out for explore Thimphu city.

  • Tamchog Lhakhang to see one of the oldest Iron Chain Bridge from 15th century. Later once we reach Thimphu we will check in to the hotel first.

Day2Explore around Thimphu city (cultural sightseeing)

After breakfast Explore around Thimphu visiting site:

  • Buddha Statue, facing Thimphu valley down below is the worlds’ largest and tallest Buddha statue.
  • Textile museum, near National library at Chubachu, it was established in the year 2001, the museum contains Bhutanese textiles, arts, crafts.
  • View Tashichho Dzong, just near bank of the Wangchu River.
  • Simply Bhutan, Get to see Culture and Traditional of Bhutan.
  • Memorial Chorten, it was built in 1974 by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Phuntsho Choden in memory of her son, Third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
  • Visit Bhutan Textile Museum
  • Royal Takin Reserve (Endanger Animal)
  • Craft Bazaar
  • Kaja Throm local market visit
  • Bhutan Postal Museum visit

Day3Thimphu – Genekha – Gur (trekking)
  • After breakfast start day with trekking walking distance 7 km time cover 5 hours, drive to Genekha from where our trek begins. From here we will descent down to the stream and after crossing the stream, trail then ascends till we reach our campsite located at Gur, above a pasture land for yaks.

Day4Gur – Labatama (trekking)
  • After breakfast continue with trekking walking distance 12 km time coverage 5 hours, the trail will lead us through a lush meadows and rich mountain vegetation, treating with wonderful views and spectacular view of Mt. Kangchenjunga (8586m) the third highest mountain in the world, sitting in between Nepal and India border. From this pass we will descend down crossing through numbers of yak herder camps before reaching our campsite located just next to Lake Uthso.

Day5Halt at Labatama (trekking)
  • After breakfast continue to the day for exploring around Labatama areas and take short excursion to nearby 3 Lakes. So, try luck in trout fishing here (fishing permits are required).

Day6Labatama – Panka (trekking)

After breakfast continue trekking with walking distance 8 km time cover 4 hours

  • Today we will trek alongside Lake Dala and ascend till the peak (4520m) from where we will have a wonderful view of world’s tallest mountain, Everest (8848m) located in Nepal. From here the trail slowly descends till we reach our next stopover at Panka.

Day7Panka – Talakha (trekking)
  • After breakfast continue trekking with walking distance 9 km time cover 5 hours, after crossing numbers of passes reach Talakha Goemba (monastery), where we will stop for our night. Few monks reside here at this Goemba. You can have a wonderful view of Thimphu valley from here.

Day8Talakha – Chamgang – Paro (trekking)

After breakfast continue trekking with walking distance 6 km time cover 4hours, descend down to Chamgang village and then to road point where your driver and car will be waiting. From here, drive towards Paro:

Ta Dzong, the dzong was built in the mid-17th century as a watchtower overlooking Rinpung Dzong by Lanyongpa Tenzin Drukdra and Chogyal Migyur Tenpa. The circular dzong houses the National Museum of Bhutan.

  • Paro Dzong, Paro Dzong, formally known as Rinchen Pung Dzong (shortened to Rinpung Dzong), was built in 1644 under the command of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is one of the most beautiful and historically important dzongs in the country.
  • Kichu Lhakhang, the temple is one of the two among 108 temples built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century to subdue a demon that lay supine across Tibet and Bhutan.

Day9Hike to Paro Taktsang monastery (Tiger Nest) (cultural sightseeing)

After breakfast drive towards Taktsang base from where the hike begins.

Horse riding facilities are available till view point (optional).

  • Taktsang monastery, the monastery is located 900 m above Paro valley on the face of a rocky cliff. Taktshang is perhaps the most famous monastery in the country.
  • Witness Bhutanese to see unique culture and Traditional of Bhutan. (Optional)

Day10Final Departure Paro International Airport

After breakfast our guide and driver will see you off at Paro International Airport for onwards flight
