Phuentsholing as a Tourist Destination
Phuentsholing is a lively border town in southern Bhutan under Chukkha District, located next to Jaigaon town in India. It is an important gateway to Bhutan India Border and a convenient stop for travelers entering the country by road. Phuentsholing has a different atmosphere then from Bhutan's mountain towns. It is warmer, more tropical, busy, and culturally diverse, with a mixture of Bhutanese and Indian influences.

Zangto Pelri Lhakhang and Park

Karbandi Monastery
it is situated on a hill overlooking Phuentsholing town, this monastery offers views of the surrounding plains of both Indian border and Bhutan, and is an important Buddhist site.

Pachu Community Tourism Site

Bhutan Milarepa Lhakhang (way to Phuentsholing Thimphu)
Lhakhang located at Ramitey about 16 km north of Phuentsholing on the way to Phuentsholing–Thimphu highway. The Lhakhang commemorates Jetsun Milarepa (1052–1135), one of the most celebrated masters and yogis in Tibetan Buddhism. The tower represents his difficult spiritual journey from wrongdoing and remorse toward purification and enlightenment which you can visit during your Bhutan Tour on the way to Thimphu.
The Eight Stupas at Gedu, Chukkha
the Eight Dharma Kaya Stupas in Gedu, which is eight distinct roadside monuments rather than six, located along the Phuentsholing–Thimphu Highway. The stupas are a symbol of the enlightened mind and the path to its realization. They are also placing of worship for Buddhist followers. In Bhutan, people commonly walk clockwise around a chorten (kora) as an act of devotion to practices their Buddhist faith. The Eight chortens are important because they provide an opportunity to see different traditional Bhutanese Buddhist architecture and religious culture while traveling through the Gedu region way to Thimphu and Paro.
